There are five main principles of Islam, narrated by Ibne-Umar (RZ) as said by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and mentioned in Shahi Al-Bukhari.

The five principles are:

•  Kalima: Testifying that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad (pbuh) is His Messenger.

•  To perform Salat: Prayers five-times a day.

•  To pay Zakat: Payment of yearly 2.50 % tax on your residue money after yearly expenses for the benefit of the poor people of the society.

•  To observe Siam (fasting) in the month of Ramadan. .

•  To perform Hajj (pilgrimage) at Mecca at least once in your life if you can afford.

There are certain other responsibilities also for a Muslim such as responsibilities towards orphans, neighbors, dead and living people of the society, parents, wife and children and to all distressed humanity of the world as well as to all the people of the world.

A special responsibility bestrewed by our prophet Muhammad (pbuh) on all Muslims that is to deliver the message of Islam to the people of the world who are not acquainted with it.
